Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Great for anyone who loves an underdog and people who believe in big gestures. You don't need to know the game to feel the big moments. Liked Challengers or Days of Heaven? This is a good next one. The chemistry carries it.
The mood
Warm and romantic.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 37 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated PG-13. Probably too much for younger kids.
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Russell, a single father, balances his work as a lawyer with the care of his five-year-old son after his wife abandoned them. When she reappears creating turmoil, he must deal with his new love interest and the job opportunity of a lifetime.
