Monday Morning Maybeearly ratingWhy it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop, almost no lasting buzz and middling reviews (40% on Rotten Tomatoes), this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- A natural pick for crime fans and anyone in the mood for a love story. Leaves you with something to think about. Liked Monster or Dogville? This is a good next one. Built to entertain rather than impress the critics, and audiences love it for that.
- The mood
- Dark and gritty, warm and romantic.
- The pace
- Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 37 min.
- What might put you off
- Rated PG-13. Probably too much for younger kids.
- Critics were cooler on it than audiences.
- Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.
