Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With soft box office and little lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for fans of a good revenge story and fans of swords, quests and kingdoms. A revenge story, so expect the pressure to build to a reckoning. Fans of Beast or Kingdom of Heaven should feel right at home. A proper quest, with a world big enough to get lost in.
The mood: Exciting.
The pace: Grand in scale, at 2 hr 36 min.
What might put you off: It's long: 2 hr 36 min.
It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Made in 1979: an older pace and style.
Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.

After Gandugali, a mercenary, rescues a band of soldiers, their chieftain asks him to train them in order to fight the chieftain's rival brother.
