Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and little lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for anyone who believes we're not alone and anyone who loves a world with magic in it. The aliens are the hook, but the human reactions are the story. Liked Predator or Spectral? This is a good next one. Its magic has rules, and the story plays by them.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Builds dread steadily, at 1 hr 30 min. Done before bedtime.
What might put you off
Skip it if you like your stories firmly grounded in the real world.

A Mexican scientific team and an Arab expedition clash over a powerful piece of metal hidden in the jungle. Oh yeah, and there's also aliens, a psychic, a sorcerer and a hostile tribe who do the occasional human sacrifice.
