Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a panning from critics, almost no lasting buzz and a lukewarm 49% audience score, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for anyone who enjoys a good scare and anyone after some adrenaline. Made for the biggest screen and the loudest speakers you have. Liked The Descent or Predator? This is a good next one. Audiences love it more than critics do: a crowd-pleaser first.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Builds dread steadily, at 1 hr 28 min. Done before bedtime.
What might put you off

  • Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.

Six American grad students have arrived in Africa to study apes with a renowned professor. But after setting up camp in a jungle clearing, they soon become witness to the carnage inflicted by the strange and remote species.
