Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Aimed squarely at anyone who remembers how big everything felt at sixteen and anyone who wants a laugh. Small moments carry real weight here, the way they do when you're young. Shelve it next to To Sir, with Love or Work It.
The mood
Funny with heart.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 24 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you're after something serious tonight.

XI "A" follows the story of Lina - a former dancer, who goes in for her dream job, namely to become a literature teacher.
