Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for people who like the lights on afterwards and people who enjoy a knot in their stomach. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps. A good follow-up to Grindhouse.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Tense from early on, at 1 hr 31 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Cantonese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you scare easily or watch alone at night.

Women keep throwing themselves at Charlie, but he falls for charming masseur Si Wai, who is beholden to a cute little idol who once saved her from being raped by a gangster. Unfortunately, the ghost of the gangster goes after Charlie, making him have sex with the women he is obliged to show around for work purposes.
