Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Aimed squarely at people who get choked up at a comeback and animal lovers. You don't need to know the game to feel the big moments. If you loved The Killing or Molly's Game, start here. An animal steals a fair few scenes.
The mood
Funny with heart.
The pace
Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 33 min.
What might put you off
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

A young gambler makes a large, risky bet on a horse race. When the odds turn in his favour, more than one party has sudden interest in the winning betting slip, and they'll do anything to get their hands on it.
