Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for fans of a good haunting and people who like to watch through their fingers. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps. Same wavelength as Hell House LLC or The Conjuring 2. Very British, in all the best ways.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Tense from early on, at 1 hr 11 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
Not one for anyone who hates jump scares.

In 2007, a series of tapes were found in the basement of a London house. The tapes contained recordings made by a well known medium right up to the time of her death. She recorded the voices of the dead, one claiming to be the Devil himself.
