Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
One for anyone interested in what war does to people and war-film fans. It puts you in the middle of the fighting, and doesn't let you forget the cost. Same wavelength as The Guns of Navarone or Casablanca.
The mood
Intense.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 56 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1978: an older pace and style.
  • Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

The movie is based on the true story about a group of children, barely teenagers, who joined Yugoslav Partizans after losing their families in WW2. At first, Partizans want to get rid of them, but later they are joining combat ranks. Among them, Bosko Buha would become a legend because of his skill in destroying enemy bunkers.
