Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Best for people who'll be humming afterwards and romantics. The music is woven into the story, not just laid on top. Shelve it next to The Muppet Christmas Carol or Hair.
The mood
Funny with heart, romantic.
The pace
Gives its people room to develop, at 1 hr 34 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Russian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1958: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if romance makes you roll your eyes.

A young sailor Sergey is in love with Lena so he decides to join her during the Moscow Music festival.
