Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Right up the alley of fans of small-town stories and anyone who's survived a family wedding. A place where gossip travels faster than the plot. Fans of Cape Fear or In Cold Blood should feel right at home. Relationships are put under a microscope, for better or worse.
The mood
Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 2 hr 3 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: expect violence.
  • Skip it if you like your heroes clean-cut.

Outside the Australian town of Jindabyne, local man Stuart Kane is on a fishing trip with friends when they discover the body of a murdered girl.
