Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for anyone who loves a story about hope against the odds and music lovers. The walls close in, and so does the tension. Same wavelength as Bronson or Prison 77.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Gives its people room to develop, at 2 hr 7 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Spanish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

After the end of the military dictatorship in Argentina in 1983, Floreal is released from prison. Instead of returning to his wife, he wanders through the night of Buenos Aires. He meets some people from his past–most of which are only imaginary–and remembers the events of his imprisonment.
