Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Great for anyone interested in what war does to ordinary people and anyone who likes a story with emotional weight. Best on a quiet night when you're in the mood to feel something.
The mood: Intense.
The pace: Gives its people room to develop, at 1 hr 31 min.
What might put you off: It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

After WWI, two friends, awarded officers return to their lives in peacetime. One of them becomes a commander of the gendarme's, while the other gets into conflict with the authorities and gets imprisoned, but escapes soon. A former hero becomes an outlaw hunted by the police.
