Monday Morning Maybeearly ratingWhy it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- One for anyone curious about anime and fantasy readers. Made in the anime tradition: bold, emotional and willing to go dark. Shelve it next to Princess Mononoke or The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Its magic has rules, and the story plays by them.
- The mood
- Feel-good.
- The pace
- Paced for all ages, at 21 min. Done before bedtime.
- What might put you off
- No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
- It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Skip it if you can't get past animation (your loss).
Kohata Anime Studio is a place full of dreams where animation is made. Baja was raised in this studio by the people who create animation. Floating in a pond outside are his friends the ducks. One night, when all the people are no longer at the studio, Baja takes a peek outside and finds that his duck friends are being attacked by a cat. Will Baja be able to save his friends? A wondrous night adventure begins.
