Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: One for anyone with a complicated family (so, everyone) and anyone who wants a laugh. Family ties get tested in ways that ring true. A good follow-up to My Girl or About Schmidt.
The mood: Funny with heart.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 2 hr.
What might put you off: It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Set in Chellanam, Kochi, the story revolves around the death of Vavachan Mesthiri in a coastal village. It showcases the events that unfold between two evenings and looks at death from different perspectives.
