Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
A natural pick for anyone who likes watching an argument won and people who'll be looking things up afterwards. The best scenes are battles fought with words. Same wavelength as Schindler's List or The Trial of the Chicago 7. Based on real events, so expect to go down a research rabbit hole afterwards.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Character-first and patient, at 2 hr 10 min.
What might put you off
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Pre-WWII Czech democratic politician Milada Horáková was one of the first victims of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. Opposing the 1948 coup but not leaving the country, she was arrested and tried for treason on fabricated charges in a show trial broadcast on the radio.
