Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for people who love a good growing-up story and fantasy fans. It gets the awkwardness and the high stakes of being young. Shelve it next to Tell Me Who I Am.
The mood
Eye-opening.
The pace
Moves through the story clearly, at 1 hr 27 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

A hybrid of documentary and fiction, Rukus is a queer coming-of-age story set in the liminal spaces of furry conventions, southern punk houses, and virtual worlds.
