Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Right up the alley of people ready for a good cry and anyone who likes to be kept guessing. It's about loss, handled with care rather than melodrama. Sits nicely alongside Room.
The mood
Tense.
The pace
Gives its people room to develop, at 1 hr 36 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Turkish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Sahar, an Iranian girl who has recently broken up with her fiancé, has decided to spend some time by herself in Antalya, Turkey. Leaving a club late at night, assuming that she is rich, she gets kidnapped and held in a remote basement. The kidnappers go greedy on the ransom, but little they know is that the whole setup has been a misunderstanding from both parties in the first place.
