Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Best for people who like the lights on afterwards and horror fans. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps. If you loved It Follows, start here.
The mood: Scary.
The pace: Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 18 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off: Rated R: expect violence and sex.
Skip it if you scare easily or watch alone at night.

A sleazy photographer makes a deal with a hideous demon for eternal youth in exchange for young, nubile young girls, whom he lures to his Brooklyn apartment under the guise of modeling work. Once the photos are snapped, the true terror begins as the monster reveals itself and the photographer sits idly by as the creature rips and tears at the girls' young, tender flesh.
