Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: If you count yourself among anyone who likes a story with emotional weight, this one's for you. Leaves you with something to think about.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Lets scenes breathe, at 55 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off: It's in Polish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Zofia, a professor of ethics, is visited by Elżbieta, an American researching the fate of Jews who survived World War II. A daytime classroom conversation turns into a night of confrontation, and Zofia is forced to answer for a decision she made decades ago that directly affected the course of Elżbieta’s life.
