Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Aimed squarely at people who enjoy a knot in their stomach and anyone who enjoys a good scare. A good one for a late-night scare. Same wavelength as Peeping Tom.
The mood
Scary.
The pace
Builds dread steadily, at 1 hr 30 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
Not one for anyone who hates jump scares.

Like many 9-year-old boys, Eli Braverman believes something menacing lives in his basement. When his older sister leaves him home alone one night, Eli discovers if this evil is real or all in his head. What Eli confronts may end up being far more terrifying than even his worst nightmare.
