Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime-drama fans, anyone who likes to be kept guessing and action fans. If you loved Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair or The Silence of the Lambs, start here.
The mood: Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 26 min.
What might put you off: It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Made in 1973: an older pace and style.

Ocho is accidentally captured by a drug trafficking cartel who use Chinese women to smuggle drugs into Japan by hiding it in their vaginas. She is tortured, and manages to escape, fighting both the male yakuzas and a gang of female thieves.
