Weeknight Watch

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: One for anyone who's ever wondered how they'd survive and anyone who likes to be kept guessing. The tension comes from simply getting through the next day. Sits nicely alongside The Descent.
The mood: Scary.
The pace: Keeps the tension tight, at 1 hr 30 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off: It's in Russian, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you want something to relax to.

The company of three guys and two girls makes their way to the old funicular to have an unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration at the top of the mountain. A fun adventure turns into a nightmare when the funicular stops over the abyss. Coldness, height and fear of a slow death make them reveal their true essence and get in a fight with each other.
