Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Tailor-made for martial arts fans and anyone interested in what war does to people. The fight choreography is a big part of the appeal. It puts you in the middle of the fighting, and doesn't let you forget the cost.
- The mood
- Funny with heart, tense.
- The pace
- Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 17 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.
Norwegian Ninja is the true story of how Commander Arne Treholt and his Ninja Force saved Norway during the Cold War. In 1983 the Ninja Force discovers that the sinister NATO force Stay Behind, who take charge in times of war and emergency, are planning a coup-d'état in peacetime. Treholt and the Ninjas see only one solution: a full can of whoop-ass.
