Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Tailor-made for anyone who likes secrets inside secrets and fans of a good courtroom showdown. Nobody is quite who they seem. A good follow-up to The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!. The best scenes are battles fought with words.
The mood
Provocative satire that goes after everyone.
The pace
A big, patient story, at 2 hr 40 min.
What might put you off
  • It's long: 2 hr 40 min.
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1976: an older pace and style.
  • Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Sarhan Abdel Basir, a children's performer known for playing a rabbit, becomes a witness in a murder case. Struggling to separate his on-stage persona from reality, he finds himself in a series of comedic situations.
