Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- A natural pick for people who like the journey more than the destination and fans of end-of-the-world stories. It's a road trip, so the detours matter as much as the destination. Liked Mad Max: Fury Road? This is a good next one. It builds a whole broken world and makes you live in it.
- The mood
- Exciting.
- The pace
- Lean, with little time wasted, at 1 hr 20 min. Done before bedtime.
- What might put you off
- Not for anyone who finds explosions tiring.
Set in a near future where mining conglomerates have turned Canada into a wasteland. Two brothers must travel the same road that claimed their sister's life in their quest to deliver mysterious cargo. En route they must contend with road pirates, rebel gangs, and each other.
