Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Right up the alley of anyone who loves an underdog and anyone who loves a strong drama. The sport matters, but the people playing it matter more. A good follow-up to The Hustler.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 37 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Portuguese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Tribute to the world of soccer in Brazil. Group of ex-soccer players gather in a bar in São Paulo to remember old stories of their prime.
