Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
A natural pick for vampire fans and martial arts fans. Vampire lore, given its own spin. The fight choreography is a big part of the appeal.
The mood
Scary, warm and romantic.
The pace
Tense from early on, at 1 hr 40 min.
What might put you off
  • It's in Cantonese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not for anyone who finds explosions tiring.

A fearless vampire hunter must team up with a group of bored, vegetarian vampires to stop a deadly rival who grows stronger by killing his own kind, and has taken her sister as slave.
