Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

It made about 6 times its budget, but just 23% on Rotten Tomatoes held it back. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Tailor-made for fans of medical drama and anyone with a complicated family (so, everyone). Life-and-death stakes, often at a run. Fans of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Blue Valentine should feel right at home. Built to entertain rather than impress the critics, and audiences love it for that.
The mood
Warm and romantic.
The pace
A big, patient story, at 2 hr 52 min.
What might put you off
  • It's long: 2 hr 52 min.
  • It's in Hindi, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Critics were cooler on it than audiences.
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Kabir, a highly intelligent but short-tempered medical surgeon spirals into addiction after his intense relationship with his girlfriend turbulently ends.
