Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Who'll love it: Tailor-made for anyone who likes watching someone settle a score and fans of prison dramas. A revenge story, so expect the pressure to build to a reckoning. A good follow-up to Cool Hand Luke or Killers of the Flower Moon. The walls close in, and so does the tension.
The mood: Dark and gritty.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 30 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off: It's in Turkish, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Made in 1963: an older pace and style.
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

A scheming tobacco farmer sets out to ruin his competition by diverting the local water to his own property.
