Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- One for anyone who loves watching a plan come together and people who can't resist a good whodunit. Half the pleasure is trying to spot the trick before the reveal. Fans of The Dark Knight Rises or Inception should feel right at home. It plays fair with the clues, so you can play along.
- The mood
- Gritty.
- The pace
- Lean, with little time wasted, at 1 hr 28 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
- What might put you off
- It's in Chinese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Not for anyone who finds explosions tiring.
An international conference on the future of cyber security held in China's tallest building is interrupted by a group of terrorists taking advantage of the lockdown ahead of the meeting. The only delegate not held by the terrorists Sunny Liu finds herself in the unenviable position of being the lone chance of stopping them. The terrorists think catching a single woman is easy, but they may have underestimated their prey.
