Weeknight Watchearly ratingWhy it’s a Weeknight Watch
With soft box office, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Right up the alley of anyone who likes watching someone settle a score and anyone who likes their action precise. A revenge story, so expect the pressure to build to a reckoning. A good follow-up to Hotel Mumbai or Killers of the Flower Moon. Lean and efficient, like its main character.
- The mood
- Dark and gritty.
- The pace
- A big, patient story, at 3 hr 19 min.
- What might put you off
- Rated PG-13. Probably too much for younger kids.
- It's long: 3 hr 19 min.
- It's in Tamil, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.
Saketh Ram's wife is raped and killed during direct action day riots in Calcutta. He is convinced that Mahatma Gandhi is responsible for all the problems happening in the country. He sets out to kill him.
