Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

It's still drawing plenty of interest, but a lukewarm 6.2 out of 10 from audiences held it back. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who likes to be kept guessing. If you loved The Others, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Tense.
The pace: Fast-moving, at 1 hr 40 min.
What might put you off: Rated R: expect sex.
Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her two fathers are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
