Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
If you count yourself among people who love a story where everyone knows everyone and anyone drawn to the darker side of the street, this one's for you. The small-town setting is half the character. Same wavelength as Traffic.
The mood
Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace
Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 30 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: expect drug use.
  • Skip it if you like your heroes clean-cut.

Since the death of their father, the Riley siblings have kept their heads above water by illegally dealing in painkillers. Josie is managing the business with an iron fist, when her brother, War veteran Kip, is concerned that the risky business is increasingly turning them into outsiders in their small community. While Kip wants to keep his younger brother out of their illegal endeavors, his younger brother is already making plans of his own.
