Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

You might want to keep your phone out for these.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
A natural pick for anyone who loves backroom deals and speeches and anyone who likes knowing it really happened. Power and ambition drive every scene. Fans of Milk or All the King's Men should feel right at home. Based on real events, so expect to go down a research rabbit hole afterwards.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 20 min. Done before bedtime.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Jokowi slowly proves that he is a leader. From the Mayor of Solo, Jakarta Governor, to President. In the process Jokowi encountered various problems. His wife and family plays an important role as a supporter. The film also shows Jokowi as a husband and head of the family at home.
