Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
One for fans of a good haunting and slasher fans. The scares come from the creaks and shadows as much as the jumps. Sits nicely alongside The Evil Dead or The Black Phone. Classic slasher set-up: count who's left standing.
The mood
Scary and gory.
The pace
Tense from early on, at 1 hr 26 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
  • Rated R: meant for adults.
  • Not one for anyone who hates jump scares.

A group of friends discover gold deep inside an old mine. But by taking the gold and think they've hit it big, they awaken a long dead miner who's Hell Bent on protecting his treasure.
