Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Great for anyone who likes a story with a soundtrack worth keeping and people who need a good giggle. The music is woven into the story, not just laid on top. Sits nicely alongside A Night at the Opera or Bo Burnham: Make Happy.
- The mood
- Light and funny.
- The pace
- Breezy, at 2 hr 22 min.
- What might put you off
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Dillie takes a short break from her Fascinating Aïda gal pals with some brand new songs and some grand old favourites. With gorgeous songs of love and songs of disgraceful filth, Dillie will break your heart, mend it again and have it sent to the cleaners for pressing. And she'll give you her recipe for chutney while she’s at it. Dillie is accompanied by a band of brilliant musicians including the cabaret legend Michael Roulston on piano. Recorded live at the Soho Theatre, London in November 2016.
