Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Right up the alley of spy-story fans and people who love relationship stories. Nobody is quite who they seem. Fans of Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages should feel right at home. Relationships are put under a microscope, for better or worse.
The mood
Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace
Lets scenes breathe, at 1 hr 22 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Made in 1947: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

Reino Köyri the son of a wealthy house falls off a horse and ends up at Liuhala's cottage to be treated by Venla. There he falls in love with the daughter of the house Anna. The couple’s cohabitation is hampered by previous commitments and ambiguities in kinship.
