Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With soft box office and little lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
If you count yourself among anyone who likes watching someone settle a score and people who need a laugh after work, this one's for you. A revenge story, so expect the pressure to build to a reckoning. Shelve it next to Furious 7 or The Naked Gun. Anyone who's had a job will recognize these people.
The mood
Light and funny.
The pace
Grand in scale, at 2 hr 53 min. It jumps around in time, so stay with it.
What might put you off
  • It's long: 2 hr 53 min.
  • It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
  • Not for anyone who finds explosions tiring.

A politician slips into coma after being attacked by criminals. He wakes up several years later to find his son having taken up his responsibilities. However, things are not what they seem to be.
