Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for history and war-film fans and people who like their stories at full throttle. It puts you in the middle of the fighting, and doesn't let you forget the cost.
The mood
Exciting.
The pace
Wastes no time getting going, at 1 hr 15 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
What might put you off
  • Made in 1959: an older pace and style.
  • Skip it if you prefer quiet, talky stories.

Seeking a new place to call home, former Confederate soldier Ben Lassiter and his daughter meet Beth, whose fiancé is a Union soldier. Lassiter falls for Beth, and when Indians attack, they head to a cavalry camp where Lassiter must battle the Indians as well as Beth's fiancé.
