Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With soft box office and little lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Aimed squarely at people who like stories about real, flawed people. Best on a quiet night when you're in the mood to feel something.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 36 min.
What might put you off: Rated R: meant for adults.
It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you need something light and fast tonight.

After falling ill, Yesterday learns that she is HIV positive. With her husband in denial and young daughter to tend to, Yesterday's one goal is to live long enough to see her child go to school.
