Sunday Safe Betearly rating

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It earned strong reviews (79% on Rotten Tomatoes), though it had a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: One for anyone who wants something that moves them and fans of a well-timed joke. It's about loss, handled with care rather than melodrama. Fans of The Kid or After Hours should feel right at home. New York is practically a character here.
The mood: Funny with heart.
The pace: Quiet, then quietly devastating, at 1 hr 42 min.
What might put you off: Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.

A New York City street artist rescues a baby girl after her father is murdered. He then sets off to find the mother, but has to first learn how to care for the child. Ultimately he ends up in a horse drawn chase for the murderers.
