With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for sci-fi fans and animation lovers. If you loved Dreamgirls, start here.
The mood: Feel-good.
The pace: Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 49 min.
What might put you off: It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).

Satomi is fine being alone until an AI named Shion joins her class with a song and a promise to make her happy. While Shion’s musical numbers and princess gowns don’t quite pass as human, her antics bring Satomi closer to four other classmates. Together, they make memories worth saving, but even our most precious data can be erased.
