Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for people who like their sci-fi with a brain-teaser in it and anyone who loves a world with magic in it. Expect to replay a few scenes in your head afterwards. A good follow-up to Interstellar or The End of Oak Street. Its magic has rules, and the story plays by them.
The mood
Mind-bending.
The pace
Never drags, at 1 hr 47 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated PG. Worth a look first if you have very young kids.
  • Skip it if you like your stories firmly grounded in the real world.

A detached orphan teen escapes to the future in suspended animation, but when he arrives at a natural utopia, he must evade a lynch mob convinced that he's the prophesied Devil's Child.
