Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With soft box office and little lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Who'll love it: Aimed squarely at fans of a good revenge story and spy-story fans. A revenge story, so expect the pressure to build to a reckoning. A good follow-up to Furious 7 or Insomnia. Nobody is quite who they seem.
The mood: Dark and gritty.
The pace: Gives its people room to develop, at 2 hr 11 min.
What might put you off: It's in Tamil, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Skip it if you like your heroes clean-cut.

An honest cop's wife is murdered because of his role in the conviction of a local goon, which forces him to quit the police force.
