Monday Morning Maybeearly ratingWhy it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Made for people who like the journey more than the destination and readers who like to compare the book and the screen version. It's a road trip, so the detours matter as much as the destination. Adapted from a book, so readers can compare notes.
- The mood
- Funny with heart.
- The pace
- Takes its time with its characters, at 1 hr 49 min.
- What might put you off
- It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Grump's life follows the same familiar routines: spring is here and the early potato harvest is ripening. But Grump crashes his beloved Ford Escort and the car has to be scrapped. A new, modern vehicle is no match for quality and the nearest Escort, a 1972 model, can be found in Germany. When the Grumps's sons refuse to help, he must travel to Germany alone.
