Monday Morning Maybeearly ratingWhy it’s a Monday Morning Maybe
With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Best for anyone nostalgic for their awkward years and fans of a well-timed joke. It gets the awkwardness and the high stakes of being young. Paris does a lot of the work, and it looks wonderful.
- The mood
- Light and funny, feel-good.
- The pace
- Lively and easy to follow, at 1 hr 7 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
- It's in French, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Not the pick if you want something heavy or meaningful.
Abel, Marianne and their 13-year-old son Joseph live together in Paris. Their everyday existence is thrown into turmoil when Abel and Marianne discover that Joseph has secretly sold valuables from the family home to finance a mysterious ecological project he and his friends have in Africa.
