Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a box office flop and almost no lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for action fans and anyone who loves a strong drama. Best on a quiet night when you're in the mood to feel something. A good follow-up to Lady Snowblood or Beast.
The mood: Exciting.
The pace: Character-first and patient, at 1 hr 26 min. An easy one to fit in on a school night.
What might put you off: It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Not the one if you want explosions or easy laughs.

Fukami is a high school janitor whose father was a gangster. He works at the school as a janitor instead of belonging to the gang so he can watch out for Yui, the daughter of his deceased father's brother Majima Yoshiki. One day, a gang feud erupts and Yoshiki is killed. Yui becomes the next target.
