With almost no lasting buzz and soft box office, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.
Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below. Is it for you?
- Who'll love it
- Aimed squarely at anime fans and martial arts fans. The fight choreography is a big part of the appeal. A good follow-up to My Hero Academia: You're Next or Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. Built on a video game, with nods for those who played it.
- The mood
- Feel-good.
- The pace
- Fast-moving, at 1 hr 30 min. Short enough for a weeknight.
- What might put you off
- No age rating on record, so check it first for young kids.
- It's in Japanese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
- Skip it if you can't get past animation (your loss).
Stones of power are given to some chosen fighters, who are being trained by a master to defeat the master's darker tendencies of destroying humanity. The fighters do not necessarily get along even as the world heads toward peril.
